PROJECT HELP

The church's mandate is to cater to the whole man, that is, the spiritual and physical needs of humanity. Problems such as poverty, teenage pregnancy, improper care for the elderly, and the increasing number of underprivileged children have damaged the ideal societal structure of the immediate environs of the Bethel United Church and neighbouring communities.

Bethel United Church seeks to provide a better quality of life for all. A number of social programmes designed specially to helping the less fortunate, especially those in the church immediate environs is carried out under Project HELP. Formed in 1977 Project HELP was officially launched on January 25, 1981.

These projects have embraced hundreds of people, young and old, who have benefitted tremendously. As the project reaches out, it is hoped that the beneficiaries will one day make a difference in the home, the community and later the society which will subsequently serve to make Jamaica a better place or the utopia of many.
