INDIGENT
CARE
At
Bethel we also care for the elderly. Once per month
they are given a stipend and periodically they are
supplied with groceries.
GOLDEN
AGE HOME
In
the 1970's Bethel adopted Cluster A at the Golden
Age Home. Our pastor also serves on the Board of the
Home. Activities carried out here include:
SHUT
IN
On
a weekly basis members of the church visit the shut
ins who live within the church environs such as Franklyn
Town and assist them in whatever way necessary.
BETHEL
UNITED TRAINING INSTITUTE
This
institute was established to provide training for
the youth in various skills to make them marketable
in order for them to fend for themselves. The idea
comes from the need of young adults in the low income
communities of Allman Town, Southside, Rollington
Town, Vineyard Town and Franklyn Town, through a sample
survey of young adults who expressed a desire for
skills training.
Approximately 300 young adults will be marketable per year. Industries including hotels and restaurants will have a pool of trained personnel from which to select when they have to employ workers.
Objectives:
On November 2, 1998, a 48-week Garment Construction course, sponsored by H.E.A.R.T. commenced with 12 students. Future plans include the operation of a Day Care Center from this facility.
We kindly solicit your assistance or donations in propagating the will of Christ in our communities.
